# What's new

The new platform has a new interface, designed to support the way your team creates, manages and publishes content. It also changes how you work. Instead of doing every task by hand, you can tell the Assistant what you need and review what it's done, and the Workbench lets you work on several items at once without losing your place.

If you're coming from the classic platform, all your existing content, assets and settings are here, and you can keep using the classic platform alongside the new one.

## Let the Assistant do the work

The **Assistant** works alongside you across the platform. Rather than finding items, opening them and editing them one at a time, you tell the Assistant what you need in plain language. It does the work, then you review the changes before you save.

The Assistant works in every area of the platform, and it can work on many items at once, either the ones you select or the ones it finds for you. For example, you can ask it to:

- "Find all the summer campaign banners that haven't been published yet"
- "Fill in the empty fields on this content item"
- "Explain what's changed in this content item since it was last published"

These are just a few examples. If there's a task you do often, try asking the Assistant to do it.

## Multitask with the Workbench

The **Workbench** keeps all the items you're working on open in one place, whether they're content items, assets, reviews or flows.

- **Work on several items at once** - Open several items in each area at the same time, each in its own tab, and switch between them in a click.
- **See what needs your attention** - See at a glance which items have unsaved changes, which are new, and which were created or edited with the Assistant.
- **Find and close your open items** - Search your open items to find the one you need, and close them all at once when you're done.

## Group items and save searches

Use **Collections** to group related content items and assets, so you can find them together in one place. For example, keep all the content and images for a campaign in one collection.

Save the searches you use most for content or assets as **Favorites**, so you can run them again in one click.

## What's new in each area

Each area of the platform has its own new features, and in every area you can ask the Assistant to help with the work.

### Content

You can now work on several content items at once, and manage the assets they use without switching tools. New features include:

- **Content navigator** - See the structure of linked content alongside the item you're editing, and go straight to any linked item
- **Launch flows** - Run a flow for the content items you select
- **Get help with content** - Ask the Assistant, for example "Fill in the empty fields on this content item" or "Translate the Spring 2027 lookbook into French and German"

### Assets

You can now do more with your assets in Amplience itself, without switching to other tools. New features include:

- **[Image editing](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/user-guides/assets/edit/)** - Remove backgrounds, erase parts of an image and add hotspots
- **AI-suggested tags and alt text** - Choose the suggestions you want to keep
- **[Upload improvements](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/user-guides/assets/upload/)** - Apply tags and video transcoding as you upload, and queue files for several folders at once
- **Thumbnails and Gallery view** - See your assets at a glance, in the list or as a gallery
- **Launch flows** - Run a flow for the assets you select
- **Get help with assets** - Ask the Assistant, for example "Find all the product images uploaded this week that don't have alt text"

[More about Assets](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/user-guides/assets/).

### Flows and reviews

- **Launch from anywhere** - Run flows from the Content or Assets library, as well as from Flows
- **Get help with flows and reviews** - Ask the Assistant, for example "Find me all the flows for adjusting images", or ask about your reviews in plain language

More about [Flows](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/user-guides/flows/) and [Reviews](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/user-guides/reviews/).

### Developer

You can now build content types visually, as well as in JSON.

- **Content type visual editor** - Build content types by adding and arranging fields, as an alternative to writing JSON
- **Get help with building content types** - Ask the Assistant, for example "Add a subtitle field to the banner content type"
