# Set up your account

Your Amplience account controls who can use the platform and what they can access. It's organized into an [account structure](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/concepts/account-structure/) of organizations, hubs and repositories, with users and teams given permissions on each.

The new Amplience Content Operations Platform uses the same account as the classic platform, so your organization, hubs, repositories, users and teams work in both.

## Who sets up what

Setting up an account is shared between Amplience Support and your organization administrator.

**Amplience Support** sets up your organization and hubs. Before they do, they can help you plan your account structure, including how many hubs to use. See [Deciding your account structure](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/concepts/account-structure/#deciding-your-account-structure).

Once your organization and hubs are ready, your **organization administrator** can set up the rest of your account, mostly using the Account Management app:

- **Create repositories** - [Content repositories](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/accounts/repositories/) are created in the classic platform, and [asset repositories](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/settings/assets/repositories/) in **Settings** in the new platform.
- **Create user accounts** - See [Creating user accounts](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/user-guides/manage-accounts/members/#creating-user-accounts).
- **Add members to teams** - See [Managing members and teams](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/user-guides/manage-accounts/members/).
- **Set permissions** on your hubs and repositories. See [Setting permissions](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/user-guides/manage-accounts/set-permissions/).

> **Note: User accounts for Assets**
> To give someone access to Assets, contact Amplience Support to create their user account.

## Open Account Management

In [Settings](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/setup/), choose **Users** or **Teams** from the Account section. The Account Management app opens in a new tab.

Account Management works the same way for both platforms. For a full tour, see [Configuring your account](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/user-guides/manage-accounts/overview/) in the classic platform docs.

Once your account is set up, see [Set up and configuration](https://amplience-developer-portal-git-develop-amplience.vercel.app/developers/docs/platform/setup/) for what to configure next.
